David Piacquad (WG’84), Schering-Plough’s Senior Vice President for Business Development, provided students with an understanding of corporate venturing and some of the commonly encountered challenges and mistakes made by entrepreneurs who are seeking funding. Sumant Ramachandra, MD, PhD, Schering-Plough’s Vice President, Global Development for Oncology, helped students better understand the realities and pitfalls of the product development process – from pre-clinical research through proof of concept....and beyond. Finally, Stacey Seltzer (WG’04), Senior Manager Global Licensing, spoke about the process of collaborating with a large pharmaceutical company.
